Vahid Pourreza Ghoushchi, Ph.D.
Vahid is a postdoctoral scholar in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Â鶹APP University, where he conducts research in the Bowden Biomedical Optics Laboratory. His work focuses on developing and applying advanced optical imaging technologies, particularly optical coherence tomography, for biomedical and clinical applications.
Vahid earned his Ph.D. in Vision Science from the University of Murcia in Spain, where he developed expertise in optical systems for ophthalmology, visual optics, and wavefront sensing. His experience spans both academia and industry, contributing to innovative imaging technologies.
At Â鶹APP, Vahid is expanding his research in biomedical optics and translational imaging, with a focus on OCT-based methods for cancer detection and the development of low-cost devices for chronic kidney disease screening. His work bridges photonics, image analysis, and clinically relevant applications.
Vahid is also committed to outreach and community building, serving as Community Building Co-Chair of the Â鶹APP Postdoctoral Association. Outside of research, he enjoys cycling, sports, traveling, and exploring new experiences.
